President of the Republic of Rwanda, His Excellency Paul Kagame has today Wednesday 29th January 2020, received a letter of credence from the newly accredited Non-Resident High Commissioner of Sierra Leone to his country, His Excellency Peter Joseph Francis.

Whilst presenting his letter of credence to President Paul Kagame at State House in Kigali, the High Commissioner accredited to Rwanda, H.E. Peter Joseph Francis noted with honour and previledged that Rwanda and Sierra Leone share common values and aspirations and also

A  high-level delegation from the International Monetary Fund, IMF, led by its First Deputy Managing Director, Dr David Lipton, has had a fruitful meeting with His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio where he commended his efforts at human capital development.

Presenting the team on Tuesday 28th January, Minister of Finance, Jacob Jusu Saffa, said that he was pleased that the New Direction Government was able to win back the confidence of the Fund after it suspended its programmes with the previous government, adding that the country was excited with its renewed partnership with the IMF, especially in the area of its technical advice to the country.

The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) has urged the Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, *Dr. Dennis Sandy*, to speak to the public to respond to the many concerns being raised by citizens and non-citizens regarding his handling of land matters in the country.

The Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Francis Kai-Kai has today officially closed the 3-day International Conference on Financing Social Protection in Sierra Leone, which brought together decision makers and professionals from private sector, academia and government.

The conference was geared towards bringing to the fore the importance of investing in social protection and also learning from other countries with best practices on harmonized or single registry, targeting and payment mechanism.

The national governing council of the African Peer Review Mechanism, APRM, has paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio, and praised him for maintaining good governance in the country.

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED) has on Tuesday 21st January, 2020 held a consultative meeting with Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) and development partners to discuss the Zero Draft National Public Investment Policy (NPIMP) at the Ministry’s Conference room, Tower Hill in Freetown.
