The First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mr David Lipton in his maiden visit to Sierra Leone has on Monday 27th January stated that the fund is very pleased to be supporting Sierra Leone.

He made this statement during courtesy call on the Minister of Finance at his treasury building office. 

The Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRCSL)  on Tuesday January 28th is part of other members of the Technical Working Group on the implementation of the Voluntary Guidelines for the Governance of Tenure of Land Fisheries and Forests (VGGT) in the country that began a series of regional consultations on the two draft Bills on Customary Land Rights and the Lands Commission.

The Chairman of the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRCSL) Patricia Narsu Ndanema has told officials of the Criminal Investigations Department that 'Statelessness is a human rights concern'.

The Chairman made that remark Tuesday January 28th during the HRCSL engagement with the  Head of CID,  John K. Alpha, Supervisor of Violent Crimes, M.K Alieu, ASP L.A Sana Vandi and the two deportees from the United States of America.

President of the Republic of Rwanda, His Excellency Paul Kagame has today Wednesday 29th January 2020, received a letter of credence from the newly accredited Non-Resident High Commissioner of Sierra Leone to his country, His Excellency Peter Joseph Francis.

Whilst presenting his letter of credence to President Paul Kagame at State House in Kigali, the High Commissioner accredited to Rwanda, H.E. Peter Joseph Francis noted with honour and previledged that Rwanda and Sierra Leone share common values and aspirations and also

The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) has urged the Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, *Dr. Dennis Sandy*, to speak to the public to respond to the many concerns being raised by citizens and non-citizens regarding his handling of land matters in the country.
